Our stay in Zanzibar included couple of highlights in terms of food and drinks – some because of the views, some for the food, and some for both. Nungwi In Nungwi the thing you want to look for is great views. We had that at couple of places which I can highly recommend: Rooftop bar... Continue Reading →
Food in Tangier is cheap and tasty. The touristic restaurants obviously have higher prices in general, but we actually paid the total of 5€ for our lunch. The tiny local restaurant didn't even really seem have a name and had only 2 tables - but it was a way of trying the truly authentic local... Continue Reading →
Hong Kong is a mecca for food lovers and you very rarely have a bad food experience there. What you have to take into account is that everything is relatively pricey at dinner time (all main course typically 250hkd i.e. 30€ or more) but you can find some good deals at lunch time for 99hkd.... As for rest of Italy, also Como has some great food! Bar Il Molo in Varenna While very simplistic, Bar Il Molo has some stunning views over the lake. While there, we simply couldn’t stop taking photos and it was one of my favorite moments at Lake Como. The place also serves some very good... Continue Reading →
Okay. So food and wine are definitely my top 2 reasons for visiting Italy. Nowhere is pasta and pizza as good, and nowhere can you get so silky and tasty gelatos. And the wines are definitely excellent as well. Below couple of places which I visited and can recommend. Granaio Pizzeria & Café near Duomo... Continue Reading →
One thing you need to be prepared when coming to Zurich is the cost of hotels and food. You easily have to pay 20€ for a lunch, and 50€ or more for even a very simple dinner. I visited 2 restaurants during my stay in Zurich: RACLETTE FACTORY for lunch For Lunch I was feeling... Continue Reading →
While in the alps on both days when eating out we wanted to test the local cuisine. Portal for Dinner in Churwalden On our first evening we went to a new restaurant in Churwalden called “Portal” which is at the bottom of the new ski lift. While we were the only guests on this very... Continue Reading →
BOA Mesa Comida Portuegesa is a great casual place to have some authentic Portuguese food near the Senado square. They have plenty of seafood available, but also some meat. Given its hidden few streets away from the Senado square it is also not too touristic and prices are very decent.
We also wanted to learn about Japanese cooking and hired a private chef to teach and cook with us booked via Prime Chef. The menu included many new food items varying from sushi style salads to omelettes, seasonal vegetables and special kind of tempura.
One definite item on our TODO list was visiting a Japanese Onsen. Most of these natural baths are actually gender separated, so ti took a bit of effort to find one suitable for couples, but we found one in Nerima Toshimaen Niwa no yu .The visit was just perfect with coom area for men and women... Ebisu is just 1 train stop away from Shibuya and has beer museum to offer for beer lovers. This was not however the reason I was there: I was there to have lunch with a view at Jojoen Ebisu Garden, a korean BBQ restaurant.
Our New Year's celebrations started around 6pm in Soho where we headed for some drinks in the cellar cocktail bar HIX to enjoy some liquid happiness to fight the cold weather. Next we headed out for some great food at Bob Bob Ricard, a Russian style restaurant in Soho with incredible interior design. The service... Continue Reading →
On few evenings we enjoyed our dinner at Mango Bay Resort which is the best restaurant (especially by value but also good quality) in the nearby area. The restaurant does not only have good food but also great atmosphere as it is located partially above water and has large terrace. One evening we also had... Continue Reading →
The highlight of my 1st day was most definitely the green shrimp curry I had for lunch in a small restaurant by the beach! In the first evening, I got to taste even more of the great Thai food at the Nong Prew beach restaurant some 500m from the hotel. The deep fried green papaya... Continue Reading →
