Food in Tangier is cheap and tasty. The touristic restaurants obviously have higher prices in general, but we actually paid the total of 5€ for our lunch. The tiny local restaurant didn’t even really seem have a name and had only 2 tables – but it was a way of trying the truly authentic local food. We had one meatball dish and one chicken stew dish, both tasty and prepared for us by a local woman. And of course our lunch was followed by a freshly prepared large mug of mint tea.
In the afternoon, we also stopped for some mint tea (addictive) and small snacks in a more touristic, but absolutely beautiful Restaurant Dar Lidam with great views over the city and the sea. Prices were clearly higher but the view was definitely worth it, and food was good too!
