Food at Lake Como is some of Italy’s best

As for rest of Italy, also Como has some great food!

Bar Il Molo in Varenna

While very simplistic, Bar Il Molo has some stunning views over the lake. While there, we simply couldn’t stop taking photos and it was one of my favorite moments at Lake Como.

The place also serves some very good and decently prized pizzas. This is definitely a place where I would go again.

Osteria Cantina Frasca at Cernobbio with homemade pasta and wine

Cantina Frasca is a casual wine bar which also offers some simple appetizers and homemade pasta. It cannot be found on Tripadvisor which is also maybe why it is relatively easy to get a table there. If you’re looking to just get some good pasta and wine, this might be the place for you. The place was very welcoming and service good.

Osteria at Cernobbio with excellent steak

One of the restaurants I had on my list to visit was Osteria del Beuc. And I can say for a reason. The steak there was simply excellent. The only problem with this restaurant was that the portions were huge so you could only eat one or two dishes from the very enticing menu.

The restaurant is clearly very popular and I highly recommend securing a booking in advance.

Osteria at Como Town with excellent seafood

Osteria La Tana dei Pescatori was definitely the seafood highlight of our trip. For a starter I had a mussel soup which actually was a huge portion of mussels in a super tasty broth. For the main course I tried their Spaghetti alla Vongole (shellfish pasta)  and also the pasta was good while maybe not as excellent as the mussels. Also my friends enjoyed their seafood risotto.

As the service was also good and the atmosphere in the restaurant very good, would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Fancier restaurant with nice views over the lake in Moltrasio

For our last lunch in Italy we wanted to find a nice restaurant with a lake view. And Ristorante La Baia di Moltrasio definitely has a great view. This was maybe the fanciest restaurant we visited which also meant the portions were very small and prices high. But the food, in my case the lasagne, was definitely both tasty and pretty.
