Stanley: the Mediterranean village in Hong Kong

Would you like to escape the busy streets of downtown Hong Kong? If your answer is yes, you should take a bus or taxi to Stanley, the little village located on the less developed southern side of the Hong Kong Island. Along its Mediterranean style boardwalk, it offers restaurants and bars with outdoor seating and a small shopping mall.

Stanley is popular especially on weekends when people go there for either a brunch or dinner, and more and more tourists are also discovering it.

While in Stanley, you might also want to explore the Stanley Market, a collection of small alleys packed with little shops selling everything from souvenirs to jewelry, art, and clothing. While the market is not very big you can find pretty much anything there.

Stanley also has a small beach on the other side of the peninsula and is a perfect place to spend time on a hot and sunny day – which is wasn’t when this picture was taken πŸ˜‰
