While I do love Italian food and the mountainous lake scenery, opportunities for shopping was also an important factor when deciding where to go for a girls weekend. Our apartment was actually located just 20min away from FoxTown, one of the best outlet malls in Europe.
While Fox Town is actually in Switzerland, it is just 5 minutes from the Italian border and very easily reachable from Como. And there are plenty of shops so you can easily spend an entire day there – or atleast I could 😉 As we visited on a Friday, it wasn’t too busy either. My best purchases this time were a nice black & white dress from Ralph Lauren and a warm purple slalom jacket from Salomon.
Just one thing to note if you’re driving from Italy: in order to drive on highways you will need to get 60€ sticker for your car to drive on the Swiss side. To avoid this, just take the smaller roads. It may add up some 10min to your trip but saves you plenty of money.
