Competa is a slightly bigger mountain village compared to Canillas de Albaida and was located some 7 km from our house near Canillas de Albaida. It also has a bigger supermarket and more restaurants, and thus is a perfect place to restock on groceries or have some lunch, which we did at Taberna Hierbabuena.
By the way: be careful when driving through Spanish mountain villages: the navigators clearly have no idea how narrow the tiny roads in the middle of the villages are, you are much better off going around rather than through the villages – trust me! No one had warned us about this in advance and we definitely had an interesting drive through the village 😉
