HK Island – Morning trail up to the Peak is a must while in Hong Kong!

Morning trail which starts at the end of Hatton road makes for an excellent morning hike and I’ve done it tens and tens of times. Depending how much time you have, you can either just go up and return down the same way. The length of the actual trail is only 2.3km but it’s almost all climbing with total elevation being roughly 200m. If you have more time, you can return down turning right when the uphill ends and continue on the HK trail taking one of the many trails back down. Or you can continue until the Peak, taking the Old Peak road down. Or you can do my favorite, which is going around the Peak enjoying the great views from this almost flat 4km circle.

Morning trail is obviously at its best on a sunny day, but I also enjoy doing it on misty days as you feel like being in a enchanted forest.
